Assure Building Control were appointed to provide Approved Inspector Services for a unique and significant development in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. The site itself was particularly restrictive but working with Ryder Architects and Robertson Construction, Assure were able to approve the scheme taking into account the fire engineered solution put forward as well as the change from a mix of in-situ and  precast concrete panel to a lightweight Kingspan frame.

Providing prestigious student accommodation, Assure have been involved from the outset to assess and agree the design and construction in detail. The 3 towers comprising this development provide a fire safe environment for students, with sprinklers installed in the taller block. A high level of compartmentation together with an intelligent fire detection and alarm system make the scheme a state of the art facility and Assure Building Control are proud to have been involved in what has become the tallest light steel structure in the UK.
